When Karen was ten her mother gave her a small plot on the family farm and granted her to plant whatever she liked. She remembered planting gladiolus, marigolds, and zinnia. Under her care the plants grew and bloomed each year, That began her love of gardening.

She currently lives with her husband and her cat, Abbey. She grows 100 different plants in her garden, including an extensive collection of hosta, and ferns. She has been featured in two Lexington Garden shows.

Karen spends many hours in her garden tending to her plants. Visitors are always welcome.

At 10 years old and neighbor, Dean began helping Karen with her garden in Lexington, Kentucky. They forged a strong friendship and began working on Awesome Blossoms in 2022.  While Dean manages the website, Karen photographs flowers from the garden and designs the greeting cards.
